Super Eagles players are expected to meet over unpaid bonus for placing third at the last AFCON as well as a new bonus arrangement for the qualifying campaign of the 2027 AFCON.
It was gathered that the players would discuss these issues during the training camp for the 2027 AFCON double-header against Tanzania.
“This meeting was to have been in Russia before the friendly, but Moses Simon was the only senior player there. The boys will now meet before the home game against Tanzania and the issue is to do with the bonus promised them for finishing third at the last AFCON as well as a proposal that the team will now get a qualification bonus for the 2027 AFCON instead of to be paid on a match-by-match basis,” an official disclosed.
The NFF and the National Sports Commission (NSC) have been going back and forth over this AFCON bronze bonus.
Nigeria welcome Tanzania on November 11 with the return leg in the East African country four days later.

Super Eagles
They are hard pressed to win both games after they fell 0-3 to Guinea-Bissau in Bissau last month to leave their qualification chances in tatters again.
