CHAN Eagles and Remo Starts’ central midfielder, Tochukwu Michael has described Super Eagles’ Head Coach, Eric Chelle as a great coach and someone who understands football who he and his teammates want to win the CHAN trophy.
Michael who can also operate as a defensive midfielder was speaking about his time under Chelle and the team’s expectations heading into the African Nations Championship (CHAN) in an interview with Brila FM.
“For being my first time, it has been a great experience—from my coaches down to my teammates,it has been a great feeling for me.
“We had a couple of good players as well, so it’s a competition—every man for himself—but I have a great feeling that I have so much to offer.
“I’m looking forward to many things, especially the team. I really want us to have one mind, one spirit, with the goal of winning the CHAN. We are more focused on the team bond. I can’t play alone—it’s an 11-man game. I believe in everyone, and I believe that positive spirit will take us far.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. Coach Chelle isn’t a difficult person; he’s a very good coach in my opinion because he understands and speaks football. If you have understanding, you’ll see that he is a quality coach.
“As much as we want to win the trophy, our opponents want it too, but it’s about who wants it more. It’s a privilege to be chosen among many. Few were selected, and we are ready to give our all to bring home the gold medal at the end of the day.”
