The Ramat Cup International Under 16 Boys Football Championship came to a befitting close on Saturday at the Lafia City Stadium in Nasarawa State with the Kaduna State team pipping Enugu State 1-0 in the final.
Enugu were ruthless in the semi final, crushing Benue State 6-0 while Kaduna State manage to overcome Kwara State 5-3 on penalties after their tie ended 1-1.
Earlier Saturday, Kwara State took the bronze medal courtesy of their 3-1 defeat of Benue State in the third place match.
The Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria, YSFON, organisers of the competition held annually in honour of former Head of State, General Murtala Ramat Mohhamed who was assassinated in a military coup in 1976, commended the Nasarawa State government hosting this year’s competition.
