As the start of the 2024 CAF Women’s African Cup of Nations, WAFCON draws nearer, Nigeria’s Super Falcons have sent out a warning signal to their group opponents.
This was done in style earlier today when they beat arch rivals, the Black Queens of Ghana 3-1 in an international friendly.
Chinwendu Ihezuo put the Falcons ahead on 34th while Assist Oshoala added the second 10 minutes later from a penalty.
Team captain Rashidat Ajibade added a third goal six minutes after the break before the Ghanaians got a consolatory goal two minutes from the whistle from a penalty taken by Alice Kusi.
Super Falcons who are nine-time champions of the tournament, were drawn in a group alongside Algeria, Tunisia, and Botswana.
