Former Nigerian Internationals, Ndubuisi Okosieme, Joseph Egharevba and Sunday Eboigbe, have charged the Eric Chelle-led squad to play the game of their life against Gabon if the hope of qualifying for the Mundial is to be realized.
The trio spoke in Benin City as the Super Eagles resume camp in Morocco Monday in preparation for the crucial 2026 World Cup Play-Offs at the Prince Heritier Moulay El- Hassan Sports Complex in Rabat, Morocco on Thursday.
Speaking first, Okosieme said, “Every Nigerian is worried at the level we are now. This is a very serious game that the team must not joke with. Gabon is not a push over country. So they must as a matter of fact play their hearts out because a World Cup without the Super Eagles is not complete”.
Egharevba said: “This is the time for the Super Eagles to show their worth, they have so many high- level players and strikers. They possess the quality and depth to emerge victorious. This is also a critical stage, every player must be ready to prove themselves. FIFA won’t be happy to see Nigeria miss out of the World Cup, they are in Nigeria because of our efforts in football.”
Eboigbe urged the players to play, “like they have never played before. Nigerians are looking up to Super Eagles to do the country pride by ensuring they qualify for the World Cup. We won’t be happy with them if we miss out of the World Cup”.
