The management of Edo Queens Football Club of Benin will on Monday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium perform the official unveiling of the newly recruited players for the season.
The ceremony will be performed by the Executive Chairman of the State Sports Commission Hon. Desmond Amadi Enabulele, and other executive members of the board.
The team who are the 2023/2024 league champions ended last season without a trophy.
It is based on this the management decided to go all out recruiting highly profiled players to boost the team for the new season.
The players who are already in top shape for the new season will be heading for Beyelsa State later this month to face the ‘Prosperity Girls’ at home in their first away league opener for the new season. A game many football pundits have described as the opening star match of the 2025/26 season.
Edo Queens participated and emerged third in the the 1st edition of Governor Diri Douye Women Football Pre-season Tournament held last month in Bayelsa State, losing 4-2 to Bayelsa Queens on penalties in the semi final.
