Hours after Manchester City leapfrogged Arsenal at the top of the Premier League, the Gunners responded by beating Brighton.
This win restored Arsenal to the summit and came courtesy of Martin Odegaard’s strike inside the first 15 minutes – and yet another own goal.
Incredibly, Arsenal have now benefited from FOUR own goals in their last three games at the Emirates.
Brighton striker Georgino Rutter was the guilty party, here, flicking home Declan Rice’s corner early in the second half.
Arsenal fans are wary about saying this could be the season they end their 22-year to win the title.
But a run of own goals like this doesn’t half give you the feeling this might finally be their time.
Even injuries – which derailed them last year – aren’t knocking Arsenal off the stride.
Riccardo Calafiori got injured in the warm-up before this game and Mikel Arteta had to name a patched-up defence.
The Gunners unsurprisingly had some scary moments late on after Diego Gomez pulled a goal back with 26 minutes to go, but they held on.
Arsenal have been decimated by injuries in defence recently, so much so Rice was forced to start this game at right-back.
