We decided to put our heads together to come up with this initiative to contribute our own quota to the development sports particularly Chess in Edo State. We needed to develop our own, Edo State is blessed with sporting talents.
Majority of our School children in Edo State are ready to make waves in sports, and for this to be achieved, there is need for platforms to enable them to excel and showcase their individual sports gifts.
Chess is one of sports which can be used to achieve this. As coaches and sports managers we are ready to help them bring this dreams to reality.”
“The aim and objective of this league is to help Chess players develop themselves in the game. A lot of people see Chess as a lazy man’s game, but do you know that Chess is one of the most difficult games because of its brain tasking nature. Chess is for intelligent people so for me I see it as the best game.”
“This Chess League is aimed at catching them young and helping them to build their career and skills on the game and also help them to achieve their dreams and aspiration of becoming World class Chess players. I tell you in a few years Edo Chess athletes will be Champions in Nigeria and Africa.”
