England’s hero in the quarter final victory over Norway, Jude Bellingham has taken a bite against their German coach Thomas Tuchel for saying the Three Lions were lucky in the match because the players were sloppy.
While praising his teammates for grinding out the result despite conceding first against Norway, Bellingham said Tuchel probably doesn’t know how it felt playing against stars lije Erling Haaland and Martin Odegaard.
”Yeah well, whatever. It’s a tough shift, so my thoughts and my appreciation go to the players who’ve put a tough shift out there.
”Maybe he (Tuchel) doesn’t know what it’s like to play in these types of conditions against Erling Haaland, (Martin) Odegaard, (Antonio) Nusa, (Alexander) Sorloth, you know. That’s not an easy team to play against.”
Tuchel’s frustration may have resulted from all of the near misses that
at full-time he claimed England were lucky to get through to set up a semi-final date with old foes Argentina.
”We made life very, very difficult for ourselves today ( Saturday),” the German said after the match.
”The result is fantastic. The last four is amazing, but I’m not happy with the performance.
”The commitment is there, but it made life very, very difficult for us in the way we played, how we played, sloppy, lots of safety, not fast enough, not enough. We were lucky today,” he. affirmed.
However, Tuchel’s feelings were not echoed by star man Bellingham, who suggested his manager did not understand how tough it was for the players out on the pitch.
