Former deputy secretary general of the Chadian FA Adjib Koulamallah has accused FIFA president, Gianni Infantino of opaque method of governance, stressing that he has become worse than Sepp Blatter he replaced.
Reminding Infantino that he became FIFA president because of the ruins of the Blatter regime, Koulamallah said that 10 years after he promised the world of a transparent and ethical FIFA reconciled with integrity, he has turned it into a corrupt and revenue generating organisation.
He accused Infantino of “inventing political awards to suit particular individuals, disciplinary sanctions erased by telephone calls, tournaments awarded without competition, an Ethics Committee reduced to silence, and once again the U.S. federal justice system knocking at football’s door—right in the middle of your World Cup”.
The Chadian also said he was denouncing Infantino’s FIFA for pursuing the most profitable commercial cycle in its history when the “World Cup (is) transformed into a revenue-generating machine—dynamic ticket pricing pushing ticket costs into the thousands of dollars while supporters are left to fend for themselves”.
He equally accused Infantino of “awarding of the 2034 FIFA World Cup without competition, by acclamation, through a process locked down within a matter of weeks”, adding that if CAF and all the 54 Federations in Africa would not speak for fear of what they would lose from FIFA, he would speak because his voice is not for sale and can’t be bought.
