Debutants Malawi and Cameroon Wednesday zoomed into the final of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON
The Chawinga sisters, Tabitha and Temwa propelled Malawi to stun Algeria 3-1 in the first semifinal while the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon edged out host Morocco 3-1 on penalties
in a fiercely contested match after full and extra time ended goalless.
The final, scheduled for Sunday, will pit Malawi’s remarkable debut campaign against a Cameroon side chasing a fifth continental title after the senior male team’s four titles in AFCON.
