Nigeria’s U-20 women’s football team, the Falconets Thursday battled their Chinese counterparts to a barren draw to scoop a point and place third in their group at the ongoing FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup in Poland.
The Falconets who slumped to a 0-2 defeat to Spain in their Group F opening match needed at least a draw aginst the pacy Chinese women to have any glimmer of hope of qualifying for the round of 16.
Falconets would battle whipping ladies from New Caledonia who have lost two matches against Spain and China, conceding 16 goals and scoring none on Sunday, hoping that China would lose to group leaders Spain.

However, a third place finish with a good goals difference could earn the Nigerian women a round of 16 ticket as one of the best losers.
