The FIFA 2026 U-20 Women’s World Cup final in Poland will be a much-anticipated meeting between the current holders and the 2022 champions. Reigning champions DPR Korea put on a masterclass against Colombia in the semi-finals to book a blockbuster clash with Spain in Sunday’s decider.

In another complete team performance, Jon Il-chong was the architect once again as first-half goals from Pak Ok-I and Choe Rim-jong put the AFC heavyweights on the way to victory, with So Ryu-gyong scoring after the break.

DPR Korea are now just one match away from becoming the first team to retain the U-20 showpiece. Few would bet against them although Spain, who dispatched Italy in their semi-final, will provide the sternest of tests.

After the encounter, Choe Rim-jong, DPR Korea midfielder said, “I’m so happy, but while I’m happy to win today, our aim is to win the World Cup. What’s most important to me is that we win as a team.”

Meanwhile, after leading Spain to the final of the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup, star player Daniela Agote, said,

“There’s a lot of excitement. Ultimately, this was the goal we had from the very beginning: to reach the final. And the truth is that we’re going into it with a lot of excitement and enthusiasm.

DPR KOREA

We’re a very ambitious team. We always aim for the best, for the biggest achievements possible, and we always manage to reach these finals. This time we’ve done it again, and now we’ll try to win it.”
