The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kano State Chapter Electoral Committee, SWANECO, has fixed November 24, 2026, for the election of new executive members to steer the affairs of the association.

announced the date during a press conference held on Wednesday at the Radio Nigeria Pyramid FM Conference Hall in Kano.
Oladimeji, who was accompanied by the two other members of the electoral committee, outlined the guidelines and procedures that would govern the forthcoming electoral process.
He explained that the guidelines cover the sale of nomination forms to interested candidates, the deadline for submission of completed forms, screening of aspirants and the manifesto day for candidates who successfully scale through the screening exercise.
According to him, the committee is committed to conducting a credible, transparent and peaceful election in accordance with the provisions of the SWAN constitution and established electoral procedures.
He urged interested members seeking elective positions to familiarise themselves with the guidelines and ensure compliance with all the requirements and timelines set by the committee.
The electoral committee further emphasised the importance of cooperation among members to ensure a smooth electoral process that would strengthen unity and promote the continued development of sports journalism in Kano State.
The November 24 election is expected to usher in a new executive leadership that will take responsibility for the affairs of SWAN Kano State Chapter.
