Mohamed Salah Tuesday matched Steven Gerrard’s appearance record for Liverpool in the Champions League.

The Egypt international was part of the Reds’ starting XI for the night’s crucial second leg tie against Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield.

In the process, he leveled with the Liverpool and England legend, making 73 appearances for the former European kings.

Only Jamie Carragher now has more, with 80 caps in the European Cup/Champions League.

Salah has been in outstanding form for the Premier League side this season, breaking multiple records.

Against all expectations however, he failed to against the French side in helping Arne Slot’s men secure a spot in the competition’s quarter-finals as Ousmane Dembele struck in the 12th minute to level scores for PSG.

After the extra time failed to produce the winner, Salah scored Liverpool’s first kick but the other two players, Darwin Nunez and Curtis Jones fluffed theirs as PSG scored four to end it 4-1 and sail into the quarter finals.
