The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF has affirmed that is is not discussing speculations surrounding the future of Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle because he has a two-year contract with thev Federation which he must see though.

This assurance was given by the NFF technical committee chairman Sherif Inuwa Ahlan who said that the Malian-born coach must stay with the team for the remainder of his contract.

To confirm the stand of the NFF, it was gathered that the Federation is expecting Chelle to submit the list of players who will prosecute the upcoming international friendly tournament.

The Super Eagles will feature in a Four-Nation Invitational Tournament in Amman, capital of Jordan, during next month’s FIFA Men’s International Window.

The mini-tournament will kick off with a clash between Chelle’s squad Iran, at the 17,000-capacity Amman International Stadium, on Friday, March 27, 2026 before tackling hosts Jordan at the venue four days later.

Since the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, Chelle has been linked with various national teams and clubs with the latest being troubled French Ligue 1 club FC Nantes.

However, Ahlan assured members of his committee at last week’s meeting in Abuja that the former Mali coach has a contract with the NFF and he will respect it.

“The chairman assured that the Super Eagles coach will honour his contract and so there was no reason to discuss his situation,” a source disclosed.
“The committee has already scheduled a meeting with the coach to discuss the way forward for the team.”

Next month, the Super Eagles are billed to play in an invitational tournament hosted by World Cup debutants Jordan.
