Federal Government College (FGC) Ijanikin will host its 48th Annual Inter-House Athletics Competition on Friday, February 28, 2026, at the college premises in Ijanikin, Lagos, with proceedings scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
The event aims to promote healthy competition, discipline, leadership, and sportsmanship among students, while strengthening unity and school spirit within the college community. Speaking ahead of the competition, the Principal and Director of Education, Dr. Kehinde Tokunbo Famuyibo, described the annual sporting event as a vital platform for nurturing teamwork, resilience, and excellence beyond the classroom.
Chairman of the Publicity Committee, Mrs. Olufowobi Olamide, noted that the competition would create memorable experiences for students, teachers, and parents, while further reinforcing bonds within the school community.
The Executive Chairman of Badagry Local Government, Babatunde Hunpe, will serve as Chairman of the Day, while Rolling Grazing Limited and Bonded Terminal Ayetoro are the official sponsors of the event.
