Former Super Eagles striker, Victor Ikpeba has criticized Moroccan fans for their lack of support for Ademola Lookman after he was crowned CAF Player of the Year Monday.
Clips from the event showed Moroccan fans leaving the ceremony hall immediately after Lookman was announced as the winner of the prestigious award.

Ikpeba expressed his disappointment, accusing the Moroccans of being “sore losers” because their compatriot, Achraf Hakimi, failed to clinch the honour.
He contrasted their behavior with that of Senegalese fans, who celebrated Mohamed Salah’s victory when the event was held in Senegal, despite their own player not winning.
Ikpeba, himself a former African Footballer of the Year who was speaking during an interview on Brila FM’s No Holds Barred with Ifeanyi Udeze, said:
“They shouldn’t take the event to Morocco again. It’s not fair. We’ve seen awards like the Ballon d’Or and others, and it’s not like this. Someone has to always win.”
The Delta-born ex football star now turned pundit also commended those who voted for Lookman this:
“Those who voted for Lookman did it with class and were very honest in their selection process.”
